I paint in oils, acrylics and pastels (chalk and oil) Some paintings are an interpretation of a photograph of mine. The two art forms l find complement each other well. Both make me look more closely; both connect me to what is before me more deeply; both bring inspiration to one another.
Making a photograph can be a quick and spontaneous process - the eye being caught by a sudden flash of colour. Or being touched by the beauty of something. The process of making a painting, on the other hand, is much slower. The looking and seeing altogether much more complete.
